A Ghost in the Machine at Soundcloud
"The career of the elusive Enwun Arr is significant by its absence: unheard of as a composer anywhere but for the ramblings of an old man stooped over a muggy pint of ale in some godforsaken public house tucked away in the arse end of oblivion. What history has been unearthed is still ambiguous. A part of the ‘Korg School’ his ideas would go on to surpass those of his peers, although it must be said the Korg sound is resolute in this piece. Any further concrete evidence of his existence appears lost in the mists of time.
"So imagine my surprise when I chanced upon him playing to himself in a locked room at 8.45am one morning. I was further fortunate to have been close by a recording machine to capture his radical sound. Of the hundreds of timbres available to him at the time he seemed happy enough to output an angry drone of constantly shifting brightness, punctuating it seemingly at random with whatever synth or wooden tuned percussion sample he had at hand. All I had to do was hit record.
"I never saw Enwun again, and this recording serves as the only evidence of his extant nature. In my role as producer I merely framed his audic musings and presented them in the more aesthetically pleasing reversed mode. A dash of compression and EQ finished off the package, though the true master was Enwun himself."
